What community health programs do you offer?

Piedmont Newnan Hospital takes its responsibility for the health of the community seriously. Because of this, we support many classes and groups to help improve the health of our community. For example, the Diabetes Support Group meets monthly, and the Joint School, which prepares patients for surgeries like knee or hip replacement, meets weekly. In addition, we provide contracted Employee Assistance Program services to corporations and small businesses. Diabetes Support Group which meets monthly and Joint School NA which meets weekly. I will be a patient at Piedmont Newnan Hospital soon. What resources are available to me as a patient?

Beyond your physician's care, nursing, pharmacy and therapy, there are many resources to help you improve, maintain or regain your health. Some of these include: Patient Education is available to teach patients and families about angina, congestive heart failure, taking medication, diabetes, high blood pressure and much more. Simply ask your nurse.

Patient and Family Services Department representatives are on site 24 hours a day to discuss patient concerns and help reach resolution. Dial extension 1670 or ask your nurse to contact Patient/Family Services.

Financial information is provided by counselors in our business office Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. They can answer questions about insurance, your bill and other financial concerns. When you are admitted, you will receive a patient information brochure that outlines your rights and responsibilities as a patient, information on advanced directives (the Living Will and the Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care), along with the operating hours of hours of various areas and Newnan Hospital's mission, vision and values.

A loved one is a patient at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. What do I need to know?

Your support is invaluable in helping your loved one regain his or her health.

Our visiting hours are 9:30 am to 8:30 pm and all patient rooms can be reached by phone. Our cafeteria is open for breakfast from 6:30 am to 9:00 am, lunch from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm and dinner 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

There are a variety of hotels and motels in the area if you need accommodations.

For more information, you may call our Patient and Family Service Department at extension 1670 or ask your nurse to contact the Patient/Family Service Department for you.

There is an ATM machine conveniently located in the Emergency Department lobby.

How do I become a volunteer for Piedmont Newnan Hospital?

Volunteers play a very important and essential role at Newnan Hospital. Our Volunteers are all ages. They run the gift shop, transport patients, provide on-campus courier service, assist with admissions and discharges, answer phones, staff the information desk and complete special projects. I'm having trouble with my paperwork for my hospital stay. Who can I talk to?

Counselors are available in our business office Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm to answer questions about your hospital bill, insurance and other concerns. They can be reached at 770-254-3615.
